This First Friday event will be a King of the Court format, but not everyone has to play in the competition; we can also have some courts for recreational play. After 90 minutes of Pickleball, we will retreat to the Garden Park for a BYOB + finger food potluck.

This King of the Court competition requires you to find/bring a partner, preferably mixed doubles, to the event.

• Each doubles team will stay together through the duration of this competition.
• Play will continue for 8 ten-minute rounds, with 1-2 minutes in between rounds, over 90 minutes of continuous play; teams are not eliminated.
• Games are timed and won only when the 10-minute buzzer sounds; if tied at the buzzer one final point will be scored. Rallies in progress when the buzzer sounds do not count unless they are a tie breaker.
• The rally point system is used to score all games – every rally won earns a point regardless of serving team; scores for individual games in a Kings' Court tournament typically reach the upper-teens to twenties prior to the buzzer.
• When the buzzer sounds, the team with the most points move toward the Kings' Court while the team with the least points moves in the opposite direction toward the Jesters' Court; the team with the most points on the Kings' Court remains and the team with the least points on the Jesters' Court stay put.
• Teams do not need to win by two points; these are win-by-one-point games.
• After 90 minutes (8 rounds) of this "up and down" moving, the best teams will have made their way to the Kings' Court and the least skillful teams will have made their way to the Jesters' Court.
